There was a Mosque in Egypt ...

When I was in Egypt, there was this Mosque. It wasn't a fancy one at all. It was actually quite old and unkept. Some of the stairs were crumbling and there seemed to be centuries of dust. But there was something about it ... something that gave me this sense of peace. I really loved that Mosque. The center was open to the sky and this wash of bright Egyptian sunlight spilled in. I just ... really liked it there. A perfect balance of nature and architecture. Of course ... it was really hot. No air conditioning and just a couple old fans to fight off the desert heat. But the shaded areas were nice. I envisioned if I lived there ... that I would want to spend lazy weekend afternoons in that Mosque, sitting in the shade, reading a good book, pondering life, and petting the local cat who seemed to have made this Mosque home.
